Summer Blogging

This July we are going to be losing a great asset here at FBC Bartow. Our pianist, Lucy C., will be leaving to attend Southeastern Seminary in the Carolinas. We wish her well, and we will definitly feel the loss in the music ministry here at FBC, but the Kingdom of God is getting a warrior committed to sharpining her sword, look out Satan.

This summer has brought changes to the music department here at FBC, the Choir will be returning from their summer break in three weeks, and for the final weeks in July we will be holding "Vocal Basic Training" classes for choir and praise team members who wish to attend. Our worship intsrumentalists are doing a fantastic job as well as our technicians. They have learned and are completely proficient at the new Allen & Heath equipment.

Generally when they do their ministries correctly, no one knows they are there, the past several weeks they have been nearly invisible. It is a blessing to have talented and passionate instrumentalists, vocalists, and technicians serving the kingdom here.

As we continue through the end of summer months, I am looking forward to a great fall season, gearing up for Christmas, School of Music, and spending time with the choir.

Sean, I agree with you. Lucy has been a blessing to Bartow First Baptist as our pianist. She will be missed but I know she is following God's will for her life.

Sorry this is a late comment, this is my first time to check out the FBC blogs. Are your basic vocal training classes open to non-choir church members?

Normally, Yes, the Vocal Training classes are open to whomever wishes to attend, however, this year's class is ending this week, the final class is Aug 6. This years class has been a success and we will most likely run it again next summer. Thanks.
