On December 21st at 10:45 am the Worship Choir at FBC Bartow will be presenting "The Splendor of Christmas". This musical is a celebration of the complete season. Not only will you hear holiday favorites such as Deck the Halls and Jingle Bells, but you'll be presented with new songs like The Next Time He Comes, and It's a Brand New Christmas. These songs are not only celebrations of the holiday, but point to the greatest gift of all, a Savior.
I pray that though the difficulties of this year's economic turmoil, you recognize that all of the temporary problems of this world will pass, and that there is one eternal gift, one eternal Word, and one eternal God, who cares for you.
Join with us Dec 21st as we celebrate the one eternal God, His eternal Gift, and present
"The Splendor of Christmas".
With great wishes for you to have a Merry Christmas,
Sean D Foret

Music and Media Ministry Update
Here are some of the things going on in the Music & Media Ministry at BFB. Worship choir is currently working on "The Splendor of Christmas" by Phil Barefoot. It's Production date is December 21st at 10:45am. This is going to be a spectacular celebration of the coming of Messiah. School of Music is getting ready to present three mini musicals which will be presented one at a time begginning Oct 19th and continuing November 2nd and November 16. These musicals involve all of the children and are great dramatic presentations of God's Love for each of us. Their titles are "Heaven's Kitchen", The Colors of His Love", and "The Lighthouse Firestation", you will definitely want to be with us for these three events. Our praise team has been meeting on Tuesday Nights for rehearsal so that three of the singers could support the youth middle school functions on wednesday nights, what a blessing, the middle school group on wednesday nights is huge! Great work ladies. We have even been able to infuse our Worship Choir with some young talent from the middle school group. God is great! Our technical teams continue to hone their skills and abilities each sunday as they present their sacrifice to God in the form of serving His people with a vital role. Each week they arrive at 8:30 am to make sure that everyone who seeks God can hear the Word both spoken and sung. Our instrumentalist are equally adept at following the leadership of God within our worship services as they demonstrate a calling to use the talents that God has gifted each of them with, abundantly.
We are still continuing to work on the infrastructure of our facilities, beyond what is visible on sunday morning, to improve our ability to support the ministries of the church. Our radio program is running very smoothly, and I feel that it provides sufficient coverage for not only our homebound, but also as an outreach vehicle for our community. The video side of the Lifepoint team is being refitted to provide a level of service to our outreach ministries like never before. It will eventually give us the capability to provide quality content to local radio, TV, Web, and internally, Life Worship, and Underground Worship. This material will be used solely for the edification of God's Kingdom and spreading His Word.
The infratrcture upgrades currently include; lighting trusses to replace the lighting trees on the balcony level, relocating the radio facilities to the first floor, and providing studio space and post production facilities for the Lifepoint Media Teams. These projects are being accomplished with the greatest respect for our financial stewardship and accountability. We may not get them all done this year, or next, but we have a target and a calling to fulfil, and with God's help, and on His time, we will be able to accomplish all things.
If you would like to help with these or any other of the ministries within First Baptist Church Bartow, please let us know. Post them here, send email, make phone call, release carrier pidgeon, however you like.
God Bless

Fall Season is Underway!
Well summer is over, and everthing is getting into full swing here at Bartow First Baptist. The Music department is preparing a great Christmas program, the Youth are gearing up for an eventful fall with some changes to their format to include a middle school group, and the Children's School of Music is ready to start Sept 3.
The Children will be presenting three mini musicals this fall on sunday mornings in October and November. These will be great services led by our children and tied in with the sermons that Dr. Ron will be delivering to us. I am looking forward to a great time with the children.
The praise team will be moving their rehearsals beginning in September to tuesday nights so that we can join with the youth in the underground for wednesday night worship.
If you are reading this and are not a part of the wonderful ministries of Bartow First Baptist, now is the best time to join, I would love to talk with you about a place to serve as a singer, a teacher, a technician, an instrumentalist, or just about any other position you can imagine.

Getting Ready for Christmas?
Sleigh Bells, Christmas Trees, and Carols? Wait a minute, its August! Well, for the music ministry, the preparation for Christmas began in June. The Choir will begin rehearsals back from their summer break on Aug 13 at 7:15 pm. This will begin a season of re-learning cherished favorites arranged for today's choir and learning some exciting new arrangements for a full season of leading God's people in Worship.
This is the perfect time to join with us as we prepare to lead God's children in adoration and celebration of the one who loves us, and chooses to seek us out continually pouring His favor on us.
Here is something to think about.
Q? What gives musicians a call to serve in the temple of God?
Corporately:
David and the commanders of the Army set apart for the service, some of the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and Jeduthun who were to testify accompanied by lyres, harps and, cymbals. 1 Chronicles 25:1
Personally:
Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:19-20
A. The Word.
What a great description of the purpose of choirs, worship teams, and instrumentalists! A charge not only to use the talents God has bless you with, but a charge to testify in the temple, to His people, proclaiming His Might, His Wonder, and His Son.
That is the goal of all of the participants of the worship teams here at FBC Bartow. Whether on a praise team, in the worship choir, or behind a computer or mixing console, all are charged with leading in the Worship of our Creator, our Savior, our Sustainer.
God Bless

The Year is Half Over?
I Can't express enough my gratitude for the hard work and dedication of our volunteer's in the music ministry here. Last week's service was more proof of their dedication to quality service in God's Kingdom. I really felt like we were all pulling in the same direction and that the congregation was experiencing God's presence as He worked through us. Thanks Guys.
I can hardly believe that this year is already half over! The next serveral weeks I will be busy getting ready for the Children's School of Music, the choir's fall shedule, the praise team's fall schedule, the web site upgrades, whew, and the list goes on. This week will end with preparation for VBS. We will have the stage in the sanctuary all Islandy and Stuff. I also found myself a cool hawaiian shirt with motorcycles on it to wear for VBS. There is another whole slew of workers that give it their all, VBS workers, Thanks Guys!
As we proceed toward the 2nd half of this year, I hope that your prayers are focused on allowing God to transform us and those around us into workers and dooers of the faith, not just spectators in the crowd.
Let me know what you think of our services and our team,
God Bless

Summer Blogging
This July we are going to be losing a great asset here at FBC Bartow. Our pianist, Lucy C., will be leaving to attend Southeastern Seminary in the Carolinas. We wish her well, and we will definitly feel the loss in the music ministry here at FBC, but the Kingdom of God is getting a warrior committed to sharpining her sword, look out Satan.
This summer has brought changes to the music department here at FBC, the Choir will be returning from their summer break in three weeks, and for the final weeks in July we will be holding "Vocal Basic Training" classes for choir and praise team members who wish to attend. Our worship intsrumentalists are doing a fantastic job as well as our technicians. They have learned and are completely proficient at the new Allen & Heath equipment.
Generally when they do their ministries correctly, no one knows they are there, the past several weeks they have been nearly invisible. It is a blessing to have talented and passionate instrumentalists, vocalists, and technicians serving the kingdom here.
As we continue through the end of summer months, I am looking forward to a great fall season, gearing up for Christmas, School of Music, and spending time with the choir.
